To ‘swallow the anchor’ means to retire from the sea and settle down ashore. Owners Ryan and Annah did just that – with 24 years of Navy service between them, they’ve now settled down and created The Swallowed Anchor – a tapas restaurant and bar inspired by their nautical travels across the world.

The balcony overlooks Crown St Mall for some quality people-watching with a cold beverage in hand.
